Behaviour problems in children are the symptom of underlying difficulties either as a reaction to a life event or ongoing family difficulties. A child psychotherapist is trained to access those feelings which cannot be expressed verbally, through play, drawing and games, bringing a sense of relief to the child thus reducing the need to 'act them out'.
Adolescents are coping with lots of changes and sometimes feelings of confusion, anger, frustration, sadness can become overwhelming requiring specialist help and support in ‘unravelling’ whats going on for that teenager and encouraging appropriate expression of those feelings.
We have experienced adolescent therapists who specialise in supporting young people and offer them a safe and confidential space to explore and understand some of this confusions and anxiety which has become all consuming and overwhelming.
The physical symptoms which may manifest include self harm, destructive behav iours and eating problems.
